As the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing a diverse team of skilled engineers and leading the successful execution of various engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Manage, support and guide external freelance engineers and managers.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering department.

Engineering Strategy and Execution:

  • Develop and implement the engineering strategy aligned with the overall business goals, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Drive engineering excellence by implementing best practices, new technologies, and innovative approaches.
  • Monitor and evaluate engineering processes, workflows, and standards to optimise productivity and minimise risks.

Project Management:

  • Oversee and manage complex engineering projects from initiation through to successful completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, production, and R&D to integrate engineering initiatives seamlessly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Management of external contractors is essential
  • Proven experience in a similar leadership role within the food and beverage industry.
  • Strong technical expertise in engineering principles, design, and execution.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex engineering projects within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and safety standards.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of emerging engineering trends, technologies, and practices.

Our Three Pillars of Training

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.

Kane joined g2 in April 2023 as an Academy & Systems Trainer.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant. Working closely with different consultants and watching them implement the feedback, apply it, and then benefit off the back of it.
