As the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing a diverse team of skilled engineers and leading the successful execution of various engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
- Manage, support and guide external freelance engineers and managers.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering department.
Engineering Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement the engineering strategy aligned with the overall business goals, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Drive engineering excellence by implementing best practices, new technologies, and innovative approaches.
- Monitor and evaluate engineering processes, workflows, and standards to optimise productivity and minimise risks.
Project Management:
- Oversee and manage complex engineering projects from initiation through to successful completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, production, and R&D to integrate engineering initiatives seamlessly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Management of external contractors is essential
- Proven experience in a similar leadership role within the food and beverage industry.
- Strong technical expertise in engineering principles, design, and execution.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex engineering projects within budget and timeline constraints.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and safety standards.
- Up-to-date knowledge of emerging engineering trends, technologies, and practices.
