g2 Recruitment are currently searching for a Quantity Surveyor to join them on a major EPC project in Amsterdam; the specific requirement is to join them on a freelance basis to be based near to Amsterdam until the end of the year.
The role is a Quantity Surveyor looking at turnaround projects involving mechanical, piping, E&I, construction. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all costs related to our construction projects, from initial calculations to final figures.

Essential skills
- Quantity Surveyor - 5 + years' experience
- Dutch speaking is essential.
- Previous chemical, petrochemical, power, pharmaceutical type projects
Key Responsibilities:
- Claim Management: Evaluate the costs of unplanned work or changes to the project scope and prepare claims/variation orders for such changes.
- Contract Management: Prepare contract documents, including bills of quantities with the client.
- Progress Statements and Invoicing: Responsible for preparing monthly progress statements, interim payment certificates, and invoicing the client, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Payment Management: Allocate work to subcontractors and handle the payment of subcontractors, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard.
- Cost Management: Prepare cost analysis based on the architectural drawings, engineering estimates, materials required, and labour involved.
- Value Engineering: Work to minimise the costs of the project and enhance value for money while still achieving the required standards and quality.
- Risk Management: Undertake risk management and cost control during construction.
- Reporting: Provide advice on contractual claims and prepare regular progress reports for project managers and client
