Stack Design Engineer

We are currently working with an established Mechanical Engineering company who are looking for a freelance Stack Design Engineer with experience working on manufacturing electrolysers and integrated hydrogen systems

Role Description:

As a Stack Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating innovative and efficient designs while ensuring compliance with all technical requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, such as manufacturing and testing, to guarantee that designs are both manufacturable and meet performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical calculations for stack sizing.
  • Conduct thermal analysis to understand the stack's behaviour.
  • Develop technical specifications for the mechanical sizing of essential stack components.
  • Assist in setting up tests in collaboration with our supplier network, including mechanical property testing.
  • Serve as the liaison between design and industrialisation.
  • Collaborate with draftsmen.

Qualifications and Experience:

Required:

  • A degree in mechanical engineering, with a focus on materials, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, or thermal engineering.
  • Extensive experience in a comparable position.
  • Proficient knowledge and skills in areas such as mechanical design, machining, manufacturing and assembly of mechanical components, pressure equipment, finite element analysis (FEA), CFD simulations, and surface treatments.
  • Fluency in both English and French.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
