HVAC Installer/ Technician
g2 Recruitment are recruiting for a HVAC Installer / Technician for a client of mine who specializes in marine work, including shipbuilding, repairs, and retrofitting.
The role is 6 days a week at the site in Wismar, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, Germany.

The Mission
To install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems onboard vessels including new builds, retrofits, and refurbishments, ensuring all work meets industry standards and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Install HVAC systems including air handling units, ductwork, chillers, and controls on ships
- Carry out retrofitting and refitting of ventilation and cooling systems
- Read and interpret HVAC technical drawings and blueprints
- Ensure correct alignment, sealing, and insulation of ducting and pipework
- Conduct functional tests, troubleshoot systems, and adjust as required
- Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Collaborate with other trades (piping, electrical, welding) during installation
- Provide feedback to supervisors regarding system performance or issues
Requirements
- HVAC installation/maintenance experience (marine experience preferred)
- Familiarity with international shipyard work or offshore environments is a strong advantage
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Proficient in installing ductwork, chillers, AHUs, ventilation systems
- Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Certifications (preferred but not always required)
- HVAC/R Trade Certification
- Marine Safety / STCW Basic Safety Training
- Working at Heights or Confined Spaces certification
- Valid Passport and willingness to travel
