Commissioning Engineer

G2s client is searching for an experienced Frequency Drive Service / Commissioning Engineer with an emphasis on complex troubleshooting and maintenance skills to help continue growth within an expanding team in the Shipping sector.

This is a great opportunity for a hardworking electrical engineer who can work in a team-orientated environment, is flexible and willing to travel internationally, and is experienced with testing, commissioning and servicing frequency drives.

Important information:

  • At least 10 hours of work each day when international / 8 hours per day in the NL
  • 6-7 days per week for international projects
  • Projects generally last between 2 to 4 weeks
  • €72.50 daily allowance for lunch and dinner, and travel costs covered within reason

Key Details:

  • Start: Q2 - Q3 2025
  • Location: Rotterdam and International (location provided 1 or 2 weeks before); up to 50% of time abroad
  • Salary: €5,500 - €6,000 gross per month, 38 days holiday (13 days accrued) plus car (depending on location), phone and laptop provided

Ideal Candidate:

  • Can collaborate, fit into a team, and work well with others
  • 3-5 years of experience with Commissioning or Service roles
  • capable of creating test and inspection plans, and performing SAT and SIT tests
  • Previously worked internationally, either in a team or independently
  • English language is essential, Dutch beneficial

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant. Working closely with different consultants and watching them implement the feedback, apply it, and then benefit off the back of it.
