About the Role:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Architectural Technologist to join our growing team in Birmingham. This is a permanent position offering a fantastic opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, from residential and commercial to mixed-use developments. The successful candidate will be proficient in Revit and bring technical expertise and creativity to our diverse range of work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the production of detailed design and technical drawings using Revit.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other team members to ensure designs meet client requirements, building regulations, and industry standards.
  • Provide technical support throughout the design and construction phases, including the preparation of specifications, schedules, and documentation.
  • Assist with site surveys and feasibility studies, ensuring the successful delivery of projects from concept through to completion.
  • Prepare and maintain project drawings, models, and documentation in Revit.
  • Coordinate and liaise with clients, contractors, and other professionals to ensure project requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Identify and resolve design and technical issues to maintain project timelines and quality standards.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in Revit and a strong understanding of its capabilities in architectural design and documentation.
  • A degree or diploma in Architectural Technology, or a similar relevant qualification.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience working in an architectural or design environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, standards, and construction techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
  • Good understanding of BIM and a willingness to stay up-to-date with the latest technological developments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with other design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar.
  • Previous experience working across a variety of project sectors (residential, commercial, industrial, etc.).
  • Knowledge of sustainability principles and energy-efficient design.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members.

Our Three Pillars of Training

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.

Systems & Academy Trainer

Kane joined g2 in April 2023 as an Academy & Systems Trainer.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant. Working closely with different consultants and watching them implement the feedback, apply it, and then benefit off the back of it.
