Automation Engineer
Our client, a leading food and beverage company, is seeking an experienced Automation Project Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have specific experience working with PLCs and MES systems in a manufacturing setting.
Job Title: Automation Project Engineer
Location: Randstad region, Netherlands
Contract Type: ZZP/Freelance
Contract Length: 12 months +
Responsibilities:
- Develop, design, and implement automation solutions for production processes in the food and beverage industry
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation needs and requirements
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and other control systems
- Configure and integrate MES systems to improve production efficiency and data management
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis for automation projects
- Provide technical support and training to production staff as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with PLCs or MES systems
- Strong knowledge of automation technologies and industry best practices
- Experience with programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagram
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and data acquisition software
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Fluent in Dutch and English
- Must have an EU visa
