Job Opportunity - Community Finance Officer - North West England

One of my local Government clients based in the North West of England are currently on the lookout for a Community Finance Officer to join their team on an interim basis.


Community Finance Officer

Contract Length: 3 Months+
Location: North West England
Pay Rate: DOE
Start Date: ASAP
Hybrid working: likely 50/50 split inc. home visits.

The Role

You will be working in a busy operational finance service, the successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out legally compliant financial assessments for clients who are eligible for non-residential and residential services to determine their ability to contribute towards the cost of the care provided through the Council in line with the Care Act 2014 and Council Policy.

You will play an essential role within the Community Finance Team, working closely with other services internally and externally to ensure fair and equitable assessments whilst maximising income for the individual and carrying out proactive account management to ensure income to the Council so that the service can continue to support other vulnerable people.

Candidates must have previous experience doing the above within a local authority setting along with ideally having an understanding of ASC (Adult Social Care) services.

Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
