Design Engineer

Are you passionate about designing cutting-edge aerospace structures? We are seeking an Aerospace Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will play a critical role in the design and development of primary and secondary aerospace structures, working on both composite and metallic materials using CATIA V5/V6.

Location: Cologne (Remote 2/3 days a week)

Type: 12 Month Contract

Rate €90-€100 (DOE)

Start Date: December 2024

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop primary and secondary structural components for aerospace applications.
  • Utilize CATIA for 3D modeling, design, and detailed drafting of composite and metallic parts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including stress, manufacturing, and testing engineers, to ensure optimal structural performance.
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation and ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Identify and implement design improvements to enhance structural efficiency and reduce weight.
  • Support the full product lifecycle, from concept through to production.

Essential Skills:

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in designing composite and metallic aerospace structures.
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6, including part design, assembly, and drafting modules.
  • Strong knowledge of primary and secondary structures in aerospace applications.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with industry standards and certification requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong German and/or English speaker

Our Three Pillars of Training

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.

Kane joined g2 in April 2023 as an Academy & Systems Trainer.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant. Working closely with different consultants and watching them implement the feedback, apply it, and then benefit off the back of it.
