Lead R&D Engineer

g2 Recruitment's client is looking for a Lead Research & Development Engineer to join their team in the Rotterdam region, South Holland, supporting renewable energy projects.

The client is particularly interested in candidates with experience covering Research & Development in the Renewable Energy industry, working with new technologies, development and prototyping.

The client is an EPC company in the Renewable Energy and Oil & Gas industries, working on projects for end client operators on onshore and offshore projects.

Lead Research & Development Engineer:

START: February, March, April 2025

SALARY/PACKAGE: €5,000 - €6,500 per month + 8% + bonus

OFFICE LOCATION: Rotterdam region, South Holland, Netherlands

Essential Skills:

  • Mechanical Research & Development background - concept creation through to design and testing
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering
  • Working history in the Renewable Energy or offshore industry
  • Experience with standard design & analysis software (Solidworks, Solidedge, Ansys, etc.)
  • A keen interest in new technologies and a creative mindset
  • English speaking, Dutch is beneficial but not essential

The client has advised they have an immediate requirement for the Lead R&D Engineer to join them. The role will be leading the R&D team and mentoring junior members.

The client has advised that they would be happy to have candidates based in Netherlands already or would be prepared to move to the South Holland region.

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant.
