Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Project Planner to join the team for the construction of a state-of-the-art steel plant. This office-based position involves coordinating, scheduling, and ensuring that the construction activities progress smoothly, on time, and within budget using Primavera P6. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of project management principles in the construction industry, particularly within the heavy industrial sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Develop detailed project schedules, identifying all critical milestones, tasks, resources, and dependencies required for the successful construction of the steel plant.
- Resource Management: Ensure the availability of resources (materials, equipment, and labor) by closely working with procurement, construction managers, and subcontractors.
- Cost Control: Monitor and control the project budget, ensuring that costs are within the approved scope. Provide recommendations to address any budget variances.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to construction delays, budget overruns, and quality assurance issues.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that the construction schedule is achievable and adhered to.
- Progress Monitoring: Track project progress and provide regular updates to project managers and other stakeholders on the status of timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Change Management: Manage and document any changes to the project scope or schedule and adjust plans accordingly to maintain the project's goals.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all planning activities comply with safety standards, regulations, and the required permits for construction.
- Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on project schedules, budget status, and other performance metrics. Highlight potential issues and offer solutions for mitigation.
