Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler/Planner to join our team in the renewable energy sector. This role is integral to the successful execution of complex, large-scale projects, ensuring seamless coordination and delivery within the renewable energy landscape. The Senior Scheduler/Planner will develop, manage, and optimise project schedules, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to contribute to the global energy transition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using advanced tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define scope, milestones, and deliverables for renewable energy projects.
  • Analyse and optimise project timelines, ensuring alignment with cost and resource plans.
  • Conduct critical path and earned value analysis to identify risks, delays, and potential bottlenecks.
  • Prepare detailed reports, including progress updates, variance analyses, and forecasts, for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to track deliverables and ensure adherence to project timelines.
  • Establish and maintain scheduling standards and processes to improve project execution efficiency.
  • Support contract management by providing schedule-related inputs for claims and changes.
  • Participate in project meetings, providing data-driven insights and actionable recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 6 years in project scheduling/planning within the renewable energy, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and other scheduling tools. Advanced skills in MS Excel and familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English (required); proficiency in other languages, especially German, is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, excellent communication, and teamwork.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with large-scale renewable energy projects, such as offshore wind farms, solar parks, or hydrogen initiatives.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in renewable energy project scheduling.
  • A proven track record of successfully managing complex, multidisciplinary schedules.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is an advantage.

Location

Based on project requirements, the role may involve a combination of office-based work and travel to project sites. Hybrid work arrangements are available depending on location and project needs.

These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
