About the project
This large-scale project focuses on the dismantling of a Nuclear Power Plant in Germany. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for one of the leading companies in the energy industry as a freelancer.
About the role
Some of your key responsibilities:
- Project Execution Oversight - Lead and coordinate all on-site decommissioning, dismantling, and demolition activities, ensuring work progresses according to safety, budget, and schedule targets.
- HSE Leadership - Enforce strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations; foster a safety-first culture across all phases of dismantling and waste handling.
- Team & Contractor Management - Supervise dismantling crews, subcontractors, and support staff; ensure clear task delegation, progress tracking, and issue resolution throughout shutdown and demolition operations.
- Stakeholder Communication - Serve as the primary interface between site activities and project stakeholders; provide transparent updates and coordinate with engineering, environmental, and client teams.
- Site Logistics & Resource Coordination - Manage the flow of personnel, equipment, and materials; ensure secure site access, proper handling of decommissioned components, and efficient use of resources.
What we require from you
Essential:
- Project Management - Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and oversee complex decommissioning and dismantling activities safely, on time, and within scope.
- HSE Compliance - Deep understanding of Health, Safety, Environmental, and (where applicable) radiological standards related to dismantling and hazardous material handling.
- Technical Expertise - Strong background in power plant systems with hands-on experience in the disassembly of turbines, boilers, piping, and associated infrastructure.
- Stakeholder Coordination - Effective leadership and communication skills to manage multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and client relationships during sensitive shutdown and dismantling phases.
- Site Operations Oversight - Skilled in managing site logistics, waste segregation, decontamination (if applicable), resource scheduling, and compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Desirable:
- Security clearance, radiation protection certification, and site-specific training for Nuclear Power Plants
