Job Title: MES Solution Architect
Contract Type: Freelance/Interim/Self employed
Contract Length: 2 years initial contract with the commitment to stay on following this for a multi year commitment
Location: Most of the work can be conducted remotely however there will be times where you will have to travel to one of the clients sites across Europe and globally
Our global manufacturing client is looking for a freelance MES Solution Architect for a long-term commitment with them.
They are looking for someone to start within the coming months and can interview within the next two weeks time.
The role is split into two key areas of responsibility, one being more involved in the technical side and the other on the business and stakeholder collaboration side.
Responsibilities:
Solution Functional & Technical Leadership
- Designing and implementing scalable, maintainable, and high-performance production solutions based on business requirements to support production and logistics processes.
- Providing functional & technical leadership and direction to project teams throughout the project life-cycle.
- Designing custom features and modules within the MES to meet specific customer needs.
- Designing and implementing integration between enterprise systems such as ERP, MES, and PLM.
- Evaluating market solutions to propose the integration or duplication of key functionalities in the corporate template.
- Leading the implementation of production solutions, including configuration, customisation, integration with other systems, and data migration.
- Optimisation of performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks in MES solutions.
- Providing guidance on quality assurance process to ensure system quality and reliability
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications and operating instructions
Stakeholder Collaboration and Requirement Management
- Collaborating with stakeholders, including internal and external entities, project managers, consultants, for requirement collection and project planning.
- Collaborating with other corporate programs to ensure best enterprise architecture
- Collaborating with clients to gather and analyse business requirements, translating them into MES solutions.
- Challenging stakeholders on the correctness and efficiency of their processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure alignment with best practices.
- Ensuring Manufacturing best practices and company standards.
- Participating in RFP/RFQ processes and negotiations, as required.
- Conducting regular stakeholder meetings to review requirements, progress, and address potential concerns.
- Facilitating requirement validation sessions to ensure the defined solutions meet business needs.
- Gathering and documenting both functional and technical requirements, ensuring all aspects of stakeholder needs are captured accurately.
- Establishing and promoting the use of reusable templates and best practices for solution design and implementation.
- Providing support to ensure the smooth adoption and operation of MES solutions.
Requirements:
As this role is both technical and business focused, it is ideal you not only have a basic technical knowledge but can also communicate and integrate with integrate with multiple stakeholders.
- Advanced Analytical Skills: Exceptional ability to analyse complex scenarios and manufacturing behaviours to derive actionable insights and convert into effective solution
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of MES solutions and experience with system integration (ERP, PLM, and other enterprise systems). It is particularly nice if you have experience in Delmia Apriso MES System.
- Industry Experience: Rich experience across different manufacturing sectors, providing valuable insights for cross-industry best practices and solution design
- Problem-Solving: Troubleshooting skills to address complex functional & technical issues
- Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating requirements into actionable solutions.
- Stakeholder Management: Experience in managing stakeholder relationships, setting expectations, and facilitating workshops.
- Process Improvement: Capability to challenge and optimise existing processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Documentation: Proficiency in creating technical documentation, test strategies, and training materials.
- Quality Assurance: Strong understanding of system testing and validation processes to ensure system reliability and alignment with requirements.
- Training and Knowledge Sharing: Ability to design training strategies and conduct sessions for various stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to evolving project and business needs.
- Project Management: Ability to lead complex projects, manage timelines, and ensure delivery against project objectives.
